Excellent service. They graciously accommodated our large group without prior notice. The fish taco special was everything you want in a fish taco.
I am convinced that this little gem of a restaurant has the best mexican food in Ventura County! This is a fantastic family owned business and it shows! Super friendly service. Terrific food. Wide selection of beer served in ice cold mugs. Ask for the sweet n spicy hot salsa. Try the unbeatable chile relleno. A thriving restaurant with excellent service and food is why we keep coming back.
This place is a hidden gem on the avenue. It gets very busy. They have indoor and outdoor seating and some good AC. The waitress was so attentive. She even asked if I wanted the air turned up or down to make sure I was comfy. Amazing fish taco full of flavor. Bomb guacamole. One of the top Mexican food spots in Ventura for sure.
First thing I noticed was the kind, warm, familial service from all staff. I was having a rough day and these folks made us feel at home. The ambiance was crowded but they had just reopened after a 2 weeks vacation. Plenty of space for big parties, a really nice large patio area. The food was fresh, well spiced and the asada was tender and delicious, marinated with great flavor. All the dishes were amazing. The enchiladas were light and fluffy and the sauce was homemade and delicious. Ask for the homemade habanero salsa, it is spicy and delicious. I will be returning soon especially to try their famous Michelada.
I found this restaurant from a review of veganVentura from Instagram. We ordered vegan the women that helped us was knowledgeable and very helpful. We order potato tacos w/beans and rice. A vegan bean and rice burrito w/hot salsa. Side of chips and salsa. The food was amazing. I live in simi valley but are staying at Rv park. We will be returning. I loved everything we had. The guacamole the salsas were 10 out of 19. The tacos were deep fried perfectly staying together till the last bite. Yummy. The services was awesome. Outside the place doesn't stand out but inside is nice. One side is a bar with tables the other is the restaurant only.
Kendra, Juan, and the rest the staff are amazing and attentive. The food is authentic and a great value. They have local beers on tap and make one of the best micheladas this side of the border. I enjoy coming here to catch up with local legends and get the latest neighborhood happening
I've come here a few times now and it's always been consistent. It's been so damn cold in Ventura that I had a craving for a hot soup of some kind, but wanted something different. I STRUCK GOLD, PEOPLE! I ordered their birria de chivo soup and it was STELLAR! Colossal, rich, hot broth, side of rice, beans, salsa, cebolla, cilantro y tortillas! Aye dios mio! It was an outstanding flavor bomb! I asked for homemade tortillas and the server said: "we don't have homemade, that would take us forever!" Let me just say, that is the one thing that would add even more stars to this. An authentic, amazing soup like this NEEDS homemade tortillas. I suggest offering them for an up charge with a dish like this. It's like not putting premium in a Ferrari... seriously! Service was good, interior was classic taqueria but with comfy booths and TVs... even a cool bar on the opposite side of the restaurant. Seems like a lot of regulars frequent this place. I've thought about coming back for this but bringing my own tortillas next time!
Ventura has so many great "Mexican" restaurants it gets hard to pick standouts. Taqueria Tepatitlan is one of those standouts. It's a wonderful family run business along Ventura Ave. My go to for first time at a new place is a Chili Relleno which did not disappoint, with it I had a beef (shredded) enchilada, with a marvelous red sauce.... wish I had thought to order an extra bit on the side! Anxious to go back a try out a few more menus items. Pro-tip on your first visit the sign is tiny, and hard to read, very easy to miss.
